Technology missing due to sanctions returned to RPL
A technology for determining offside lines will appear in the new season of the Russian Premier League (RPL). It is reported by RBC Sport.
According to the source, the International Football Federation (FIFA) certified the technology of the Chinese company Rigour Tech, after which the Russian Football Union (RFU) received permission to use it in official competitions.
The agreement between Rigour Tech and RFU for the supply of services for using this technology was concluded in February 2023.
The previous supplier of technology for determining offside lines stopped working in Russia due to the imposition of sanctions, which is why referees did not use it in the 2022/23 season.
The current champion of Russia is the St. Petersburg “Zenith”.
Earlier, the Portuguese agent Paulo Barbosa said that football players from Europe are still ready to go to Russia.
