The Federal Security Service of Russia for the Rostov region, as part of the ongoing prevention of offenses and crimes in the field of protection of state secrets, revealed the fact of unauthorized travel abroad of a former secret carrier of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
Investigators established that Russian citizen Oksana A. had previously served in a military unit, where she worked as a clerk and had access to information constituting a state secret. In October 2019, she resigned of her own free will, but taking into account her actual knowledge of information constituting state secrets, the leadership of the military unit decided to limit her right to travel abroad until 2024. Being aware of the specified time limit, in October 2022 she left for the territory of the Republic of Abkhazia.
Based on the results of consideration of the materials of the criminal case, the magistrate court of the Adler intra-city district of Sochi, Krasnodar Territory, found the former serviceman guilty of committing a crime under Part 1 of Article 283.2 of the Criminal Code of Russia “Violation of requirements for the protection of state secrets.” She was sentenced to a fine of 250 thousand rubles.
