The Federal Antimonopoly Service has requested justification for prices for chicken meat from the three largest producers. Among them is the owner of the Don agricultural complexes GAP Resurs, the department’s press service reports.
According to the FAS, chicken meat producers PJSC Cherkizovo, GAP Resurs and JSC Prioskolye occupy a collective dominant position in the commodity market. This means that companies can jointly influence the competitive environment.
- If this provision is abused and monopolistically high prices are set, antimonopoly measures may be applied to organizations, including turnover fines, the source writes.
The service sent requests to the companies – PJSC Cherkizovo and GAP Resurs must justify to the department an increase in chicken prices by more than 5%.
