Atom cars are presented to us as the first domestic electric cars created in Russia from scratch. There were surprisingly many people willing to order this miracle of import substitution: 36 thousand people placed paid pre-orders.
The Kama company, which is developing an electric car, is trumpeting success. The pre-order function was opened in July and closed by the beginning of autumn. Over the past couple of months, the specified number of applicants has accumulated. “This figure is an indicator of trust, and we are very grateful to you for it,” the company says.
Pre-ordering “Atom” was not free at all, it cost 7 thousand rubles. Those who wished to transfer money, and after that they were given a digital key, which in the future will allow them to be among the first to buy a domestic electric car. They promise to release the car in 2025.
Kama cars are positioned as cars in the mass segment. They will be assembled at the Moskvich plant, although the Kama company is based in Naberezhnye Chelny and is generally associated with KamAZ. According to presentations of the car, it will be able to accelerate to 100 km/h in 7 seconds, and one charge of the car will be enough for a distance of 500 km. They say that the new product will have both high-tech equipment and software. We are developing our own Atom OS operating system for communication with smartphones. We hope it will be possible to immediately connect to the car R-FON.
There are already virtual queues for cars. Now let’s see if they are real – like buying a new iPhone every year.
