In the Rostov region, transport police found and seized about 250 grams of marijuana in the home of a 55-year-old unemployed man, reports the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the North Caucasus Federal District.
An examination of the home of a previously convicted resident of the Morozovsky district was carried out as part of the operational and preventive operation “Mak-2023”. The police discovered and seized a polymer bag containing a substance of plant origin with the characteristic odor of cannabis. According to a study conducted by forensic experts, the contents are a narcotic drug – marijuana, with a total weight of about 250 grams, which is a large size.
- Now a criminal case has been initiated against the defendant on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Art. 228 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation – “Illegal acquisition, storage, transportation, production, processing of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues, as well as illegal acquisition, storage, transportation of plants containing narcotic drugs in large quantities,” writes the source.
The maximum punishment provided for by the sanctions of the incriminated part of the article involves imprisonment for a term of up to 10 years.
