In Venice, all those killed after a bus fell from an overpass have been identified

All those killed in the tragic incident with a passenger bus that fell from an overpass in northern Italy have been identified. This information was confirmed on October 4 by the mayor of Venice, Luigi Brugnaro.

According to the latest data, 21 people died as a result of this terrible accident, and all of them were foreign citizens, with the exception of the bus driver, who was an Italian from Treviso. Among the dead were nine Ukrainians, four Romanians, three Germans, two Portuguese, as well as one citizen each from Croatia and South Africa.

The victims were taken to the hospital, including three children. Ten people are in intensive care, and all of them are also foreign citizens.

As a result of this tragedy, the Venice prosecutor’s office launched an investigation. The incident is being treated as a vehicular homicide involving multiple people. There are no suspects yet, but two main versions of what happened are being considered: a risky maneuver by the driver or a sudden illness that led to the inability to drive the vehicle.

Investigators are analyzing CCTV footage and data from the bus’s black box to reconstruct the course of events and find out what caused this terrible tragedy.
