A resident of Sakhalin was detained for cooperation with the Ukrainian special services


Law enforcement agencies arrested and took into custody a 57-year-old resident of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk for cooperation with the Ukrainian special services. A criminal case was opened against him, the press service of the Russian FSB department for the Sakhalin region reported, TASS writes.

“<...> a criminal case has been initiated under Art. 275.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (cooperation on a confidential basis with a foreign state, international or foreign organization), a preventive measure was chosen in the form of detention,” representatives of the department emphasized. Moreover, the most severe punishment that can await him is imprisonment for up to eight years.

According to the information received, the detained citizen openly criticized the special operation of the Russian Armed Forces in Ukraine, and also spoke negatively about the country’s politics. He deliberately made contact with the Ukrainian intelligence service in order to convey information to the enemy.
