FBI denies reports of surveillance of Trump supporters

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has not confirmed information that supporters of the former President of the United States of America Donald Trump are being monitored for political reasons. An FBI representative told RIA Novosti about this.

“Any assertion that the FBI is targeting individuals solely for their political beliefs is categorically false,” said a spokesman for the US intelligence agency, clarifying that the organization only monitors those who “commit acts of violence” or “threaten violence.”

An FBI spokesman specifically emphasized that the bureau does not take any action solely on the basis of political opinion or any other activity that is protected by the First Amendment to the American Constitution.

Previously, prosecutors and FBI employees who are involved in the case of US President Joe Biden’s son Hunter received threats against them due to insufficient actions in the case. Read more about this in material Public News Service.
