About 20 travelers from Orenburg were unable to go on holiday to Turkey, as the Victoria Latuga travel agency, where the tours were purchased, suddenly disappeared. The representative of the Russian Union of Tourism Industry in the region, Vladimir Getman, told RIA Novosti about the incident.
Tourists purchased trips to Turkey from a local agency for 55 thousand rubles for two – this is almost half the price than from a number of other operators. It is interesting that travelers received a message about the suspension of the agency registered as an individual entrepreneur on the day of departure. All of them could not contact the agency, although they had already paid for their trips.
The competent authorities are now working with the victims. Hetman named among the potential reasons for the situation the probable bankruptcy and sinking or the original existence of the agency to deceive tourists. At the same time, the agency has been working for several years, having contracts with major tour operators.
It was previously reported that every fourth Russian last summer spent on vacation from 30 to 50 thousand rubles. At the same time, 23% of compatriots spent up to 15 thousand rubles during their vacation, another 14% – from 15 to 30 thousand rubles.
