Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev received a new position. The corresponding decree was signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Now the politician is also the head of the Security Council Commission on Combating Biosecurity Threats. The composition will include the heads of the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Education and Science, the president of the Russian Academy of Sciences and others.
Functions include research in the field of biotechnology development, as well as the development of measures to prevent and eliminate biological threats.
