Moscow and Beijing will cooperate on the One Belt, One Road initiative


President Vladimir Putin announced the intention of Russia and China to implement joint infrastructure development plans, including the One Belt, One Road project. The Belt and Road Initiative, introduced by China, aims to improve existing and create new trade and transport corridors connecting more than 60 countries in Central Asia, Europe and Africa, with the aim of stimulating trade relations between them and China.

Putin emphasized Russia’s readiness to implement infrastructure development plans related to the Greater Eurasia projects, the Eurasian Economic Union and the “One Belt, One Road” idea of ​​its Chinese partners. He expressed confidence in the prospects of this cooperation and hopes to discuss its details during the upcoming meeting with the President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping at the forum that the chairman is holding in Beijing in October this year.

The President also highlighted the significant number of plans for cooperation with China in the humanitarian fields, culture, student exchanges and sports.
