At the “Golden Autumn” exhibition at the Timiryazev Academy, Russian Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev announced that the grain harvest in Russia this year could reach 135 million tons in net weight. This volume includes approximately 90 million tons of wheat. The gross grain harvest is expected to be one of the best in Russian history.
To stabilize the market and support farmers in the face of declining world grain prices, the Ministry of Agriculture plans to purchase up to 2 million tons of grain for the state reserve. In addition, by the end of this year, an additional allocation of 10 billion rubles is provided to support grain producers.
Another 10 billion rubles may be allocated in the first half of 2024. These measures, in combination with other support measures, will create conditions to ensure that the grain harvest in 2024 will not be worse than this year.
