Prisoner from the Ukrainian Armed Forces: The command sends soldiers to cross the Dnieper without preparation

An ex-soldier of the 126th Territorial Defense Brigade of the Armed Forces said that the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine sends soldiers to cross the Dnieper without training, fire support and in conditions of understaffed units.

He was captured by Russia during a battle on one of the Kherson islands in the Dnieper delta, RIA Novosti reports. A Ukrainian born in 1981 was forcibly mobilized in 2022.

“We were not trained as such for assault operations or crossing water barriers,” noted the former Kyiv soldier. According to him, the mobilized “we were formed like a herd at this stage.”

Since last December, the man served in the village of Zmievka, located on the right bank of the Dnieper near Kherson. Veseushnik clarified that there has been no rotation or addition of new military personnel since the end of 2022. Instead of the required 25 people, 14 served. In other platoons there were about ten.

“There was no artillery support, and if there was, it was very minimal and, in fact, did not make any difference,” noted the Ukrainian prisoner. According to him, the fighters “were forced to go to the islands, although they understood that they were essentially meat.”

Earlier, the Public News Service reported that in the zone of a special military operation (SVO) of the Russian Federation, a group was destroyed mercenaries-Belarusians who participated in hostilities in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
