Psychologist Tokareva called ghosting a form of sadism

Clinical psychologist Polina Tokareva told online publication “Moscow Region Today” why some people disappear without explanation.

According to her, we are talking about ghosting, when a person abruptly and without reason stops answering calls and messages.

This “is not only a disregard for a person, it is a deliberate exclusion of oneself from the life of another person, friend or partner,” the specialist emphasized.

She described people who resort to such steps as cowardly and irresponsible. The speaker emphasized that “this is endlessly traumatic for the second person.” She called ghosting “a form of sadism.”
