Putin: Ukraine’s entry into NATO threatens Russia’s security

The Russian Federation has always been against Ukraine’s entry into the North Atlantic Alliance (NATO). Russian President Vladimir Putin made this statement during his speech on the platform of the Valdai discussion club.

He noted that Ukraine’s possible entry into NATO is a direct threat to Russia’s national security.

“Russia has always been against Ukraine’s entry into NATO, there are serious reasons for this – it threatens the security of the Russian Federation,” Putin said.

Retired Lieutenant General Evgeniy Buzhinsky previously statedthat the timing of the end of the special operation in Ukraine will largely depend on the results of the offensive of the Ukrainian troops. He expressed hope that the active phase of the conflict will end by the end of 2023.
