Siberian man to go on trial for attempting to rape a train conductor

The case of a resident of the Omsk region will be considered in court on the fact of rape of a passenger train conductor. This information follows from the statement of the West Siberian Transport Prosecutor’s Office.

It is reported that an indictment has been approved in a criminal case against a previously convicted 31-year-old man. He was charged with committing a crime under Part 3 of Article 30, Part 1 of Article 131 of the Criminal Code of Russia (attempted rape).

“According to the investigation, in July 2023, at night, the accused, traveling on the Chita-Moscow passenger train, entered the conductor’s compartment, closed the door behind him and tried to rape her. A passenger from a neighboring compartment responded to the victim’s cries for help and prevented what was happening,” the supervisory authority said in a statement.

Now the criminal case has been sent to the Ob City Court of the Novosibirsk Region, where it awaits consideration on the merits.
