He Kirchner Cultural Center was the scene of the opening of the exhibition Central Bank National Painting Award. 15 yearsthe exhibition houses 41 works from the collection of the Central Bank of the Argentine Republic, obtained through the National Painting Prize since 2007. The main objective of the contest is to reflect the contemporary artistic panorama of the entire country and promote the production of artists local.
Present at the opening ceremony were the Undersecretary of Space Management and Special Projects, Martín Bonavetti, the Director of Planning and Programming of the Kirchner Cultural Center, Liliana Piñeiro, and the curator of the exhibition, Rodrigo Alonso, as well as numerous participating artists and an enthusiastic community that gathered on the sixth floor of the Kirchner.
Rodrigo Alonso emphasized the relevance that the public assets of the Central Bank can be exhibited in a public institution such as the Kirchner Cultural Center. He noted that this exhibition presents works that belong to the public and that over the years, the award has evolved and encouraged the participation of artists from all regions of the country to become an increasingly federal event. Room 607 houses some of the works that make up the great tribute awards of the contest, selected by a renowned jury to represent the breadth and diversity of the Argentine art scene.
Liliana Pineirofor its part, stressed the importance of hosting an exhibition that exhibits works by prominent artists of Argentine culture, because this exhibition not only promotes the artists, but also enriches the cultural experience of the visiting public, allowing them to rediscover such consecrated works.
Finally, Martin Bonavetti, in his closing speech, expressed his gratitude to all those present and highlighted the celebratory nature of each inauguration at the cultural center. Thus, the exhibition was officially inaugurated, beginning the tour for the present public, who now has the opportunity to immerse themselves in the fascinating world of contemporary Argentine art, reflected through the masterpieces gathered in this exhibition.
