The Italian company Campari intends to prohibit through court the Rostov distributor Master-Trade from importing a drink under the Aperol brand into Russia and selling it. The publication reports this “Kommersant” citing court documents.
It is alleged that the reason for the lawsuit was the absence of this drink in the list of goods available for parallel import.
“Davide Campari-Milano NV, a structure of the Campari Group, appealed to the Arbitration Court of the Rostov Region. In the statement of claim, the Italian side asks to prohibit the local distributor Master-Trade from selling drinks under its Aperol brand,” the court materials indicate.
It is noted that the trial will take place on October 30. Campari also asked the court to take separate measures to interrupt the supply of an alcoholic beverage prohibited for parallel import, but the court refused to satisfy this request and asked for confirmation of violation of the right to the Aperol brand.
Previously, juice producers in Russia asked for government support due to weak imports and lack of raw materials. Read more about this in material Public News Service.
