After a woman reported that she was deprived of liberty when boarding a taxi by application in the municipality of Apodacathe State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) of New Lion opened an investigation, while government authorities assure that they are already working to eradicate this type of criminal acts.

According to the complaint filed, the events occurred on Tuesday, October 3, when a 59-year-old woman asked for a taxi by app Didi in the Las Puentes neighborhood, in San Nicolás de los Garza, bound for his daughter’s house, located in Apodaca.

However, when the woman was about to reach her destination, the driver ordered her to get out of the vehicle and board a conventional taxi that was already waiting for her and in which she was only going to go a few blocks. Then this taxi also stopped, she got out of the vehicle and another man was waiting for her.

The latter told her to get into a truck, but she refused, so the subject hit her on the head which left her unconscious.

When the woman managed to regain consciousness, she was lying on the bench of a public park in the Las Misiones neighborhood, without the money she had in a bag; It transpires that the lady had five thousand pesos, however, other versions suggest that she even had more than 30 thousand, but this information has not been confirmed.

Due to the facts, the authorities of Nuevo León are already working to obtain the recordings of the security cameras to investigate what happened and identify those responsible.

The owner of the Secretariat of Public Securitya, Gerardo Palacios Pámanes, assured that this is an isolated incident and that it is not an organized group, however, he confirmed that the authorities are working to ensure that this type of crime does not occur again.

Along these lines, the secretary pointed out that the implementation of the Sintramwith which you can read the license plates of the vehicles and thus follow them up if you are suspected of any crime.

“We have considered it important to put on the table an issue that has been going on for several years in the country, but we are particularly concerned about the Nuevo León case, which is to take greater safety measures for rental cars, both in the case of application and conventional ones. , which allow us much greater security with citizens,” he said.

To achieve this, he said, they will use the new C5which will not only help with issues of insecurity but also mobility through cutting-edge technology.

From December 1, 2018 to August 2023, 5,787 kidnappings have occurred in Mexico, which means that three kidnappings occur in the country every day.

According to the National Urban Public Safety Survey (IN ITS), prepared by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi), in the second quarter of the year several municipalities in Nuevo León were in the ranking of the cities with the highest perception of insecurity.

In the ranking were Monterrey, San Pedro Garza García, General Escobedo, Santa Catarina, San Nicolás de los Garza, Apodaca and Guadalupe, of which the last three were the ones that had a decrease compared to last year’s measurement.
