The Attorney General’s Office (FGR) challenged the protection granted by a federal judge to the former governor of Tamaulipas, Francisco Javier García Cabeza de Vacawith which the arrest warrant issued against him for his alleged participation in organized crime crimes and operations with resources of illicit origin was eliminated.
Adriana Yolanda Vega Marroquín, head of the Eighth District Court based in Tamaulipas, reported that an agent of the Federal Public Ministry filed an appeal for review against the sentence in favor of the member of the National Action Party (PAN) that was issued last November.
According to the member of the Judiciary, the case will be transferred to a Collegiate Court of the entity so that within a period of 90 days it will be determined whether the sentence is confirmed or modified, in case the magistrates ratify the decision, then a control judge will definitively cancel the order of apprehension.
It is worth remembering that said order was issued in October 2022 when a control judge from the Federal Criminal Justice Center of Almoloya de Juárez; However, at the end of last year Judge Vega Marroquín ordered to cancel the order considering that the Prosecutor’s Office did not present sufficient evidence regarding the alleged participation of the PAN member in the aforementioned crimes.
In parallel, the former local president promoted a protection and prepares a complaint against the local administration after having resident certificate rejected with which he sought to participate in this year’s electoral process.
The procedure was accepted by the seventh district judge in the city of Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Juan Francisco Alvarado López; In this, the former president argued an alleged intention of the government of Américo Villarreal Anaya to paralyze his political career, because without that document I cannot continue with his intentions to be a federal deputy during the current electoral process.
