Julia Louis-Dreyfus stars in the trailer for the new drama A24, Tuesday, a film that arrives marked by a strange, emotional and fantasy tone. The preview was released last Thursday, although the feature film still does not have a confirmed release date. The film tells the story of Zora, played by Louis-Dreyfus, and her terminally ill daughter, Tuesday (Lola Petticrew). Both are found with nothing less than the Deathembodied in a surprising way by a talking parrot that changes size and is interpreted by Arinze Kene.
“A mother (Julia Louis-Dreyfus, in a deeply moving performance) and her teenage daughter (Lola Petticrew) must confront Death when he arrives in the form of an amazing talking bird. From newcomer Daina O. Pusić, Tuesday is a heartbreaking fairy tale about the echoes of loss and the search for resilience in the unexpected,” says the official synopsis.
The film, directed and written by Daina Oniunas-Pusichad its world premiere at the Telluride Film Festival in September last year and is expected to be released sometime in 2024. The title, which is a joint production of BBC Films, draws attention for its fusion of mother-daughter drama and magical realismrepresented especially by Death, a macaw tired of the world that changes size easily. This visual effects creation has been highlighted for its seriousness and emotionality, thanks to the voice of Arinzé Kene (Wanted).
Career-wise, Louis-Dreyfus has recently been involved in other 2023 releases, such as You hurt me and Youin addition to being scheduled to appear in Thunderbolts from Marvel Studios, planned for July 2025. Petticrew, for his part, has worked on the crime series Bloodlands and in She said (2022).
