Green light for the works of the new Girona FC training center in Vilablareix

The City Council of Vilablareix (Girona) has given the go-ahead to the start of work on the new training center that Girona FC wants to build in the town, and which will be equipped with training fields and equipment for the first team, currently in full fight for the LaLiga EA Sports title. “Girona FC now has the approval of the Vilablareix City Council to begin work on the first phase of the construction of the new training center, the City Football Academy Girona (CFA Girona),” the Catalan club announced in a statement. The town council approved the license for the project that includes, in this period, the construction of two hybrid grass soccer fields for first team training, as well as complementary equipment, locker rooms, a gym and offices. The direction of the project has been entrusted to the architect Olga Felip, from the Arquitecturia de Girona office. “Their experience and innovative vision will ensure that the new training center is a world-class sporting facility,” the club noted. It is expected that in the summer of this year the first team will be able to move to this new location and leave the current, provisional facilities of the PGA of Caldes de Malavella. After obtaining the relevant authorization from the Urban Planning Commission, this step marks a key moment in the completion of a project that has been identified as “strategic for the growth” of Girona FC.
