An “architectural” Christmas tree appeared on Novokuznetskaya

The New Year tree was decorated with balls depicting architectural monuments, which in different years became laureates of the Moscow Restoration competition.

So, walking around the Christmas tree, you can see the building of the museum-estate “Ostafyevo”, the pavilion “Grott” from the Kuskovo estate, the arches of the main entrance of VDNKh and the Northern River Station, the Narkomfin House, the House of Culture “GES-2” and much more.

“It is symbolic that it was in the Year of Cultural Heritage that a thematic Christmas tree appeared in Zamoskvorechye, the oldest district of Moscow, on Pyatnitskaya Street, which unites several centuries of the history of our city,” says Alexei Yemelyanov, Head of the Cultural Heritage Department.

Balloons with sights are not just decorations. Each has a QR code, pointing at which the camera of a smartphone, you can get to the Discover Moscow portal, a page where all the details are told about the monument.

You can enrich yourself with knowledge about Moscow architectural monuments by combining a virtual tour with a round dance around the Christmas tree until January 15. And in total in Moscow, according to Deputy Mayor Pyotr Biryukov, more than a thousand New Year trees were installed for the holiday.
