According to figures published this Monday by the National Institute of Statistics (INE), in the month of October, almost 8.2 million travelers arrived from abroad, above the 7.6 million in that month of 2019, also a record for that month. month.

Among the main emitters, France exceeds the pre-covid figures, from where 10.35 million came, somewhat above the 10 million in January-October 2019.

However, the first issuer continues to be the United Kingdom, which sent 15.5 million tourists until October, still below the 16.3 million in the first ten months of 2019.

Germany, the traditional second emitter before the pandemic, is in third position, with 9.6 million passengers compared to 10.1 million then.

The most significant increases over 2019 occurred in the United States, from where 3.42 million travelers came to Spain (2.93 million four years ago). Compared to 2022, tourism from that country increases by 41%.

The number of Italians arriving in Spain also increases substantially over 2022 (4.2 million, 20.6% more); the Portuguese (2.4 million, 17.4% more); the Irish (2.2 million, 18.7% growth), and the Swiss (1.7 million, 19.3% more).
