Last July, the Government launched a call for 2,520 places for direct entry into the Cabos Scale and Corps Guards of the Civil Guard. Of the total number of places called for direct entry, 1,008 have been reserved for professional soldiers of troops and sailors who have at least five years of effective service and 185 places for students of the College of Young Guards. The rest are free. The Royal Decree clarifies that reserved places that are not filled for any reason will be added to the quota of free places.

On September 28, the Teaching Headquarters of the Civil Guard published the provisional list of those admitted and excluded for the entrance tests to the body, which also indicates the date, time and place of celebration of the first test of the call for applications. the selective tests for entry into training educational centers for incorporation into the Scale of Corporals and Guards of the Civil Guard Corps.

The BOE of September 30, 2023 has announced that the days on which the access tests will be carried out for all those people who registered for this call will be Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th October.

Applicants included in the admitted list must take a series of tests that will measure knowledge, psychotechnical and physical abilities.

The time of this test will be one hundred forty (140) minutes and will consist of several parts. It will be graded from 0 to 100 points. To pass it, it is necessary to reach 50 points; those who do not achieve this will be declared “unsuitable” and will be excluded from the selection process. The tests are:

  • Orthography. It will be evaluated by completing an exercise with five sentences numbered from one to five, in which four words have been underlined in each sentence, identified with the letters A, B, C and D, respectively, and those with spelling errors must be noted. ; In addition, a phrase with four (4) reserve words or expressions underlined in the same way will be included. The latter will only be valued in the event that the Selection Court annuls any of the previous ones and following the order established in the questionnaire. An incorrect response is considered to be either failing to mark a word or expression that is misspelled or marking one that is correct. Those who have 6 or more wrong answers will be excluded.
  • Grammar. It will consist of a type test where you can point out phrases or expressions that are not correct from a morphological and/or syntactic point of view. In addition, a question will be included with four reserve phrases or expressions, which will only be evaluated in the event that the Court annuls any of the previous phrases or expressions and following the order established in the questionnaire. Those who have 6 or more wrong answers will be excluded.
  • General knowledge. It is a questionnaire with 100 multiple choice questions, taken from the syllabus and 5 reserve questions that also appear in the questionnaire. Each question has only one valid answer; In the event that the applicant considers several options to be correct, she must indicate the most complete one. lQuestions answered incorrectly have a penalty. The unanswered question will not be penalized. The score ranges from 0 to 100 and it is necessary to obtain at least 50 points to continue in the process.
  • English language. It is a questionnaire of 20 multiple choice questions about English with a level compatible with the contents contemplated for Compulsory Secondary Education and a reserve question. Each question has only one valid answer; In the event that the applicant considers several options to be correct, she must indicate the most complete one. Questions answered incorrectly have a penalty. The unanswered question will not be penalized. The test will be scored from 0 to 20, and it is necessary to obtain a minimum of 8 to continue in the process.

The next phase consists of the evaluation of cognitive abilities that reflect the general mental ability and personality variables of the applicants.

The results of the psychotechnical test applied may be taken into account to determine the suitability of the candidate for the professional profile of the Civil Guard. This test will be valued from 0 to 30 points, according to the scores obtained in the tests applied; To pass it it will be necessary to achieve a minimum score of 12. The following are measured:

  • Intellectual skills. They will be evaluated through a general intelligence test and/or specific scales that measure learning capacity, analysis, reasoning and cognitive potential. 80 questions will be asked in 55 minutes. Each question has only one valid answer; In the event that the applicant considers several options to be correct, he/she must indicate the most complete one. Questions answered incorrectly have a penalty. The unanswered question will not be penalized.
  • Personality profile: It will be evaluated through tests that explore personality, aptitude and motivational characteristics.
  • Physical tests. It will consist of carrying out the physical exercises described in each call, where the minimum marks to be surpassed in each of them are determined. The Selection Court may determine the order of execution of the exercises and may carry out several simultaneously; In this case, at least one member of the Selection Tribunal must be present in each of them.
  • Personal interview. It will consist of evaluating the applicants’ ability to adapt to the demands derived from professional performance. It will allow us to assess whether the candidate has the necessary skills and qualities to pass the academic period and be able to perform their job. Before the interview, a biographical information questionnaire will be carried out that will serve as a support element for carrying it out.
  • Medical examination.
