Chicago (USA), Nov 3 (EFE).- A layup by Steph Curry with 0.2 seconds left in the fourth quarter, apparently touched by Draymond Green, gave the Golden State Warriors a vibrant 141 victory this Friday -139 in the Oklahoma City Thunder field.

The Warriors added their fifth consecutive victory and the fourth in four games played away from home this year, in a game of enormous intensity ended with a long review by the referees in the decisive play.

With a 139-139 tie, Curry, who finished with 28 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and five three-pointers, entered the paint and appeared to score two points, although the referees reviewed the play due to possible interference by Draymond Green.

After several minutes, and seeing that Josh Giddey, of the Thunder, touched the basket net before Green’s alleged touch to the rim, the referees awarded the two points to the Warriors.

The basket was finally officially awarded to Green, according to official NBA statistics.

The Warriors opened the new NBA Cup with a vibrant victory, on a night in which Curry had already given a show by offering a no-look assist for an alley-oop by Gary Payton II.

The Thunder, who were without their star Shai Gilgeous Alexander, fell despite shooting 60% from the field and 51% from the three-point line.

Their best scorer was Lunguentz Dort with 29 points and a perfect six of six on triples. Chet Holmgren finished with 24 points and exchanged jerseys with Curry after the game.

The Warriors and the Thunder are in Group C of the West along with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Sacramento Kings and San Antonio Spurs.

The NBA Cup takes place from this Friday to December 9, with a group stage and a direct elimination stage that will take four from Las Vegas to the final.

In the group stage, the matches will have double value, as they will count for both the tournament and the regular season.

The T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas will host the Final Four from December 7 to 9.

This is an idea from the NBA to increase the competitive level during its long regular season, of 82 games, and avoid having games with little at stake.

An important economic incentive will also be added to the sports competition, since each player on the winning team will take home half a million dollars.
