This immediate action allowed the driver to create the necessary distance to move away from the scene and prevent his truck from being taken away, despite the material damage to his vehicle and the risk of injury.

The community of Surquillo has shown its concern about the increase in criminal acts in the area, as well as its respect and admiration for the determination of the driver who was the victim of the attempted robbery.

The authorities are already investigating the event and have asked the population to collaborate by providing information that could lead to the arrest of the criminals. Furthermore, they have recalled the importance of reporting these crimes in order to act effectively against crime in the district.

According to figures provided by the Vehicle Theft Prevention and Investigation Directorate (Diprove) of the National Police of Peru (PNP), around 3,000 cars have been reported stolen until August 2023 throughout the national territory.
