Three detainees confirmed after drug blockades in Guanajuato

Behind the day of attacks and narcoblockades that were reported in different parts of the state of Guanajuatothe state Secretariat of Public Security (SSP) confirmed the arrest of three men identified as alleged members of organized crime.

Although the institution did not reveal the identities or pseudonyms of the apprehended individuals, it confirmed that it was as a result of said operation that the criminal group to which they apparently belong – without specifying – responded with violence.

It all began, according to the official version, when a convoy of state agents carried out surveillance patrols in the community of San Antonio de los Morales, in the municipality of Juventino Rosas. There, the uniformed officers noticed the presence of an SUV-type truck transporting armed civilians who, upon seeing the police officers, shot at it.

The security agents repelled the attack and began a persecution that ended in that same community, when the vehicle of the apparent hitmen stopped.

“Once the perimeter and those now detained were secured, ammunition of various calibers was also secured, a firearmchargers of various calibers, drugs and the vehicle,” the corporation reported without offering specific details about what was seized.

As a result of this, other possible members of the same criminal structure mobilized to generate acts of violence on different stretches of road.

According to the official count, there were vehicle fires and presence of ponchallantas stars in the Yustis community of Celaya, as well as in the La Providencia neighborhood of the same municipality; on state highway 67 near Franco Tavera, in Juventino Rosas and in the community Santiago de Cuenda.

Likewise, the SSP reported that a truck was set on fire on free highway 45, in the section that connects Celaya with Salamanca at the point of the return of Villagran.

These criminal acts were attended to by state authorities and emergency service personnel in order to restore communication routes.

Unofficially, it was announced that, when he was on his way to attend to one of the fires, the firefighter Felipe Jiménez Sánchez He was the victim of an armed attack that ended his life. This, however, was not mentioned in the SSP statement.

The series of road blockades and attacks brought to mind the modus operandi that characterizes the Santa Rosa de Lima Cartel in the region (CSRL) and some preliminary reports indicated that among those detained would be a high profile leader of this group. However, the authorities have not shared any statement on the matter.
