In the Rostov region, a court sentenced a 32-year-old resident of Moscow, who robbed and killed a pensioner, and then set fire to his apartment. This was reported by the press service of the regional Sledkom.
During the trial, it was established that in January of this year the person involved was in the apartment of an acquaintance of an 80-year-old pensioner. During an argument, he strangled him with a plastic film. After making sure that the owner of the apartment did not show signs of life, the convict stole money from the apartment in the amount of four thousand rubles, the victim’s mobile phone and a bank card. And then he set fire to the apartment to hide the traces of the crime.
During the investigation of the criminal case, the defendant was taken into custody. It was established that he had previously been convicted of property crimes and was released from prison in December 2021.
The court found a resident of Moscow guilty of murder, theft, attempted theft from a bank account and intentionally damaging someone else’s property by arson. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison to be served in a strict regime correctional colony.
