“After the institutions responsible for the removal of the bodies carried out the necessary tests, we inform you that the six persons deprived of liberty who died in the Detention Center No. 1 of Guayas are John Gregore R., Andres Manuel M., Adey Fernando J., Camilo Andres R., Soules Osmin S. and Jose Neider L. All prisoners are citizens of Colombia and were arrested on suspicion of the murder of ex-election candidate Fernando Villavicencio,” the agency in Ecuador emphasized.

It is worth saying that the bodies were found in one of the prison pavilions. There is no further information about the cause of death. The current head of the country, Guillermo Lasso, commented on what happened, promising to interrupt his work trip and return to the country for an urgent meeting of the security committee.
