6-year-old girl was murdered in Chihuahua after celebrating her birthday

Great commotion is being experienced in the state of Chihuahuaspecifically in the municipality of Cuauhtémoc, after the death of a girl was announced just one day after she turned six years old.

According to the information, the events occurred on Sunday, November 5, around 8:50 a.m., when elements of the municipality’s Public Security Secretariat answered a call alerting them of the body of a lifeless minor on a place near La Laguna del Pájaro.

After the police arrived at the scene, they found the minor’s father, who made the call for help. The girl was on the asphalt and her body was covered with a white and yellow blanket.

The minor’s grandfather was also at the scene, who pointed out that the day before they had celebrated the girl’s birthday at home.

The man said that the minor’s father, identified as David RG, 26 years old, left the home and took his daughter aboard a gray Cherokee truck, along with another subject named Carlos. As far as is known, both were in drunk state and they allegedly had a fight.

The victim’s grandfather also indicated that his son returned the next day, at six in the morning, but struck and without the girl. Afterwards the family went out in search of the girl and that was when they found her body lying on the avenue.

The municipal police then notified the Western Zone District Attorney’s Office, who was in charge of carrying out the necessary procedures. FinallyThe girl’s father was arrested for being the main suspect of feminicide; It is expected that in the next few hours it will be linked to the process.

The minor’s body was examined by the Forensic Medical Service to determine the cause of death, although in the place where the body was found a stone was found that could have been used against the minor.

According to data from the Network for Children’s Rights in Mexico (Redeem), from January 2015 to September 2023, 53 cases of femicides of people between 0 and 17 years of age have been recorded in Mexico.

Of them, 10 were caused by a firearm; 32 with another element; 7 with a knife, and 4 with unspecified elements. Most cases are concentrated in Jalisco and the State of Mexico, although Oaxaca, Chiapas, Puebla, Nuevo León and Chihuahua are also of concern.
