Infectious disease doctor Andrei Pozdnyakov named the symptoms of a new strain of coronavirus, called “Eris”. He shared information about this in a conversation with Izvestia.
The specialist said that signs of infection may include a cough, runny nose and sometimes a possible increase in body temperature. He added that the new strain does not pose a threat.
“In most cases, treatment is purely symptomatic, with the exception of rare cases of severe disease. Elderly patients and people with chronic diseases are at risk of severe disease with hospitalization,” Pozdnyakov said.
Infectious disease doctor Evgeny Timakov shared information that on average people get sick with COVID once every six months.
