The president of the Government of Aragon, Jorge Azcón, has acknowledged that the Ministry of the Interior did notify of the visit of the minister, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, this Monday to Calatayud (Zaragoza), and has admitted “an internal communication failure.” This morning, the regional president described it as a “lack of education” that Grande-Marlaska went to Calatayud “without contact with the Government of Aragon” and assured that they had found out about this visit through the media. This has provoked the response of the delegate of the Government of Aragon, Fernando Beltrán, who has indicated, in a publication on the social network ‘X’ – formerly ‘Twitter’ – that they had invited the Minister of the Presidency, Interior and Culture, Tomasa Hernández, who in turn had delegated to the general director of the Interior, Miguel Ángel Clavero. “We are surprised that the Minister of the Interior invited the advisor on the matter from the Government of Aragon and she did not accompany us today. He has delegated to the general director of the Interior, who can inform you of the increase in agents in recent years that we have spoken,” Beltrán stressed. This has led Azcón to admit the error: “You are right that the Ministry notified the Ministry. There has been an internal communication failure,” he responded to the Government delegate. However, he added that, “unfortunately, the opposite occurs in the lack of Police and Civil Guard personnel” in Aragon. “It is obvious that there are hundreds of places left to fill and that has an impact on security in rural areas,” concluded the regional president.
