In 2022, the Taganrog budget retained its social orientation. More than 63% of all budget expenditures, more than 6 billion rubles, are directed to the social sphere. Such figures were given by the head of the city administration Mikhail Solonitsin during his final report to the residents.
So, in 2022, more than a third of all residents of Taganrog took advantage of social support measures. More than 2 billion rubles were allocated for these purposes. The priority of social work is family and demographic policy, protection of motherhood and childhood. 20% of recipients of all payments and compensations are families with children.
As a result of the children’s health campaign, 1,655 children from low-income families and families in a socially dangerous situation rested in camps and sanatoriums (2021 – 1,492 children).
To support citizens who find themselves in a difficult life situation, social contracts worth more than 43 million rubles have been signed. 284 residents of Taganrog started their own business.
- When solving social issues, special attention is paid to elderly citizens, pensioners, and the disabled. All participants and invalids of the Great Patriotic War, and we have 30 of them, are individually registered, – said Mikhail Solonitsin.
This year, a day care department was opened on the basis of the Center for Social Services for Elderly Citizens and the Disabled. With the direct participation of disabled people and public organizations, comprehensive work is underway to adapt the M. Gorky Park of Culture and Leisure for people with disabilities. They are already in the process of completion.
