Sheremetyevo employee given three years probation for stealing 21 million rubles from passengers’ luggage

The Sheremetyevo Handling company is engaged in luggage maintenance, and the employee – now a former one – was engaged in nothing more than stealing money from this very luggage.

We wrote about this story back in July – then the loader Nikolai Andriyashin, who worked at Sheremetyevo, was detained by the police. He was charged with stealing 10 and 11 million rubles from the luggage of several passengers on the mysterious Moscow-Bishkek flight – it so happened that two passengers decided to transport large sums of money on the plane at once, and the loader somehow found out about it. After waiting until no one was there, he stole cash from the suitcases, but forgot that there were more cameras. The damage in total amounted to 21 million rubles. The money was then immediately withdrawn, and the man was sent to court.

The Khimki city court considered Andriyashin’s guilt proved, writes Moscow agency. He was accused under the article on theft on an especially large scale (Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), and at today’s meeting he was convicted. It was decided that a suspended sentence with a three-year probation period would suffice. And if a man commits any offense during this time, the suspended sentence can turn into a real one – three years in prison, plus another year of restriction of freedom.
