Washington, Oct 31 (EFE).- Several protesters interrupted a hearing in the US Senate on Tuesday while Secretary of State Anthony Blinken was speaking about Joe Biden’s plan to approve an urgent budget item of more than $100 billion that includes aid to Israel and Ukraine.
Several people participated in the hearing, open to the public, who since Blinken spoke raised their hands, painted red, symbolizing blood.
Then, in a coordinated action, they began to disrupt the hearing with protest signs and shouting “Cease fire now, save the children of Gaza. Where is your pride America?”
The interruptions occurred several times, with Blinken looking serious, and on each occasion the protesters were removed from the room by the security forces.
Several of the protesters also broke in to protest Biden’s immigration policies: “All the walls have to go,” they shouted.
On October 20 and after announcing it in a message to the nation, Biden asked Congress to approve an urgent budget item of more than 100 billion dollars that includes aid of 14.3 billion dollars for Israel and a new package for Ukraine for 61.4 billion dollars. .
There are also 13.6 billion for different items to increase security on the border with Mexico, and another 2 billion to improve security in the Indo-Pacific, among others.
