The Ryazan region ranks 14th in the country and 4th in the Central Federal District in terms of milk production
A regional meeting “The state and prospects for the development of dairy farming in the Ryazan region” was held. This was reported by the press service of the regional Ministry of Agriculture. The meeting was attended by heads and specialists of enterprises-producers and processors of milk, representatives of regulatory authorities. The meeting was held at the Ryazan Agricultural University. Participated in the plenary session Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Region Dmitry Filippov.
The Minister noted that in recent years, the dairy industry in the region has made great progress:
“For seven years, the gross production of raw milk in the region has increased 1.5 times. In the Russian rating, the Ryazan region has risen by five positions. The region ranks 14th in the country and 4th in the Central Federal District. This year the region will produce raw milk worth 18 billion rubles. Over the past 4 years, the breeding stock has doubled and exceeded 39 thousand heads.
The main achievement of breeding enterprises is that the Ryazan region has turned from an importer of highly productive animals into an exporter. This year was the first when the Ryazan region sold more on its own than it bought in other regions.”
The average milk yield per cow in the Ryazan region has increased significantly and is expected to exceed 9 tons per year by the end of 2022. This is significantly ahead of the average figures for Russia and the Central Federal District.
