The Sverdlovsk region is not among the leaders in the ranking of the level of social well-being

The Sverdlovsk region was not included in the top 20 most prosperous regions of Russia. About it testify data from a study by the Civil Society Development Foundation.

According to the authors of the study, since the beginning of 2022, the average cost of living has slightly increased in the regions. The average salary in the country also increased – approximately at the rate of inflation.

The Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, the Nenets Autonomous Okrug, the Sakhalin Region, Chukotka and the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug were recognized as the most prosperous. The top ten also included the Magadan region, St. Petersburg, the Murmansk region and Yakutia.

In the second ten are Irkutsk Region, Krasnoyarsk Territory, Kemerovo Region, Komi Republic, Kamchatka Territory, Amur and Moscow Regions, Tatarstan and Leningrad Region (shared 18th place), Tyumen and Tomsk Regions.

The Sverdlovsk region was only in 21st place. The Chelyabinsk region is located on the 24th line, the Kurgan region did not hit the top of the prosperous regions at all (only 35 subjects were included in the study).

As a basis for calculations, the researchers took the ratio of the average wage to the minimum cost of living, which includes a fixed set of food and non-food products, as well as the minimum necessary services.
