They do not calm down: the State Duma proposed to imprison for five years for re-propaganda of LGBT people
It seems that the adopted law was only a prelude.
On the fifth of December the president signed a law on a complete ban on LGBT propaganda, which provides for an administrative penalty in the form of a fine of up to 10 million rubles for virtually any mention of non-traditional relations.
Censorship of works of art began even before the entry into force of restrictions. For example, some online stores have taken take off with the sale of the book back at the end of November. There was also censorship in the series – for example, all references to LGBT people were removed from the last episode of the White Lotus and even a sheet was photoshopped on the bare buttocks of one of the actors.
However, some deputies have already considered that this is not enough. So how report RIA Novosti, the head of the State Duma Committee on Family Affairs, Nina Ostanina, has prepared a bill to introduce criminal liability for repeated violations of the law banning LGBT propaganda and gender reassignment. As punishment, they offer imprisonment for up to two years, or forced labor for up to two years, or arrest for up to four months. And for the repeated “dissemination of propaganda” among children, a term of up to five years will be threatened at all. In addition, similar punishments are proposed to be introduced in case of repeated propaganda of pedophilia.
As the experience of the previous bill concerning LGBT people shows, a decision will be made fairly quickly. And the result is unlikely to be unexpected.
