This is my city: actor Vladimir Epifantsev

About Moscow as a place that turns you back, and about the film by Gregory of Constantinople “Clipmakers”, in which he fulfilled his dream of playing a real ghoul.

I was born…

In Moscow. All that comes to my mind from pleasant memories are basements, attics and abandoned places where I could hide from the bots I despise and do whatever I want: live my own life without rules and laws.

Comparing Moscow with other cities…

The only thing I like about Moscow is that the shops here are better than in any other Russian cities. There are a lot more helpful people and cool restaurants here. By opportunities and services, Moscow is called the city of the “devil”. Here you can get everything you want, and just as quickly lose everything.

Walk around Moscow…

So-so entertainment. I am absolutely indifferent to its streets and parks. I’m sick of the sights, the lack of creativity and the lack of taste in architecture. But at the same time, I feel more comfortable in Moscow than anywhere else on Earth. This is how weird it gets.

In the city, it annoys me and pleases me …

The pleasure is delivered by the way the delivery service works. Everything public infuriates: music in shops and cafes, pictures and interior design, sculptures and clothes in shops. Everything that infuriated and annoyed me since childhood infuriates and irritates me: stupidity, bad taste and mediocrity. But this is exactly where I see my inner engine – thanks to what infuriates me, I become better. It helps me to know the hidden mechanisms of being and stay happy. Now I have accepted what infuriates and annoys me, and I look at my life as an exotic quest. Thanks to all this crap, I have only the best that a person can have. I listen to the best music, I make it myself, I wear the best clothes, I live in the best place, and I hang out with the best people. Thanks to Moscow, I have everything that no other person on Earth has. That’s why I love this city.

I don’t know who Muscovites are…

I like individual people with whom I communicate personally, they are not only from Moscow. And if we talk about those who walk the streets, then, for me, the more people, the merrier. The crowd creates a sense of movement. But this is only a feeling – my fantasies rather. Until the moment when I begin to interact with a person personally, I perceive the people around me as an entourage and am content with what I have. I do not appreciate the quality of this entourage. I gave up on my ambitions that people should be as cool as me. Today it is enough for me that I am cool myself and those whom I touch and smell every day.

My favorite place in Moscow…

This is the territory of my home in one of the former factories. This is my homeland and country in which I am king and god. Unfortunately, I can’t reveal the secret that made this place my family and friends. But I believe that one day everyone will know about it.

I wish Moscow and Muscovites…

I wish Moscow creative designers, and Muscovites – to become as cool as me and Yulka (beloved).

The film “Clipmakers” …

This is a film that, on the one hand, made my dream of playing a real ghoul come true, and on the other hand, to work with the great master of the comedy genre Grisha Konstantinopolsky. A crimson jacket, a gold chain, fixies, a signet – this is all that I dreamed of putting on myself and doing something in the style of Chopper from my favorite movie “Inside Look”. I am sure that this role is still a warm-up to the real image of a bandit of the nineties, but here I also pulled myself off as it should. A wonderful ensemble cast, a wonderful and professional workshop, a cool cameraman and a cult director, what else can a third-line actor like me dream of.
