According to AzNIIRH data, fishermen managed to catch a record amount of Kalkan flounder in the Sea of Azov from March 1 to April 30 – 350 tons. About it reports rostovgazeta.ru.
This number turned out to be 80 tons more compared to last year’s figure and the maximum over the past 20 years.
AzNIIRH explained that the stock of flounder is growing due to the increase in salinity of the Azov Sea. As a result, flounder spread throughout the entire water area.
It was previously reported that the export of Russian seafood has become difficult due to sanctions – now many markets are closed to domestic fishermen. Nevertheless, Russia, as before, is one of the top five countries for the production of this type of resource.
