Shanghai (China), Oct 15 (EFE).- The Spanish Marcel Granollers and the Argentine Horacio Zeballos were proclaimed champions of the Shanghai Masters 1000 doubles tournament today after beating the Indian Rohan Bopanna and the Australian Matthew Ebden by 5 in the final -7, 6-2 and 10-7.

The match, which lasted 1 hour and 23 minutes, started very even and only a break ball in the last game managed to unbalance the first set in favor of Bopanna and Ebden, who, however, began the second set very disconnected , giving up two consecutive serves so that the Spanish-speaking duo quickly went 4-0.

The tiebreaker round brought equality in the game again but two veterans of the courts like Granollers and Zeballos (37 and 38 years old, respectively) were able to show themselves very solid and were finally the ones who took the lead.

Granollers and Zeballos, a couple since 2019, thus add their eighth title together (the 5th in the Masters 1000 category) and the first of this year.

For Granollers, number 14 in world tennis in doubles, this is his 25th trophy, while for Zeballos, who currently occupies 13th position in the ATP ranking in this category, it will be the twentieth championship to his name.
