Rio de Janeiro, Dec 3 (EFE).- Flamengo full-back Filipe Luís, former player for Atlético de Madrid, Chelsea and Deportivo de La Coruña, left the Maracaná this Sunday with a standing ovation, after playing his last game with the Rio club, which They beat Cuiabá 1-2, on the penultimate day of the Brazilian Championship.

Visibly excited even before the dispute began, the left back kissed the grass of the field and hugged his teammates and several of his opponents tightly before hanging up his hats.

Together with Rodrigo Caio, who also says goodbye to Flamengo but continues his professional career, he was photographed with all the Rio club’s cups and received a commemorative plaque for his work.

The World Cup winner landed in July 2019 in the Rio de Janeiro discipline, with which he has won a dozen titles, including two Libertadores (2019 and 2022) and two Brazilian Championships (2019 and 2020).

The return to his native country occurred after marking an era with Atlético de Madrid, which he joined in 2010 and with which he became champion of the Spanish League (2013/14), the Copa del Rey (2013) and two Europa Leagues (2012 and 2018), among other titles.
