The CC-224 highway, which connects the towns of Hervás to Cabezuela del Valle through the Port of Honduras), will open to traffic in the early afternoon, after cleaning and spreading fluxes. This road is one of those affected by the passage of the storm ‘Mónica’ that has left snow and ice on several roads in the north of the province of Cáceres, some of which remained closed to traffic over the weekend. CC-242, from Piornal to Garganta la Olla, is also scheduled to open to traffic this afternoon, while highway CC-437, access to Pico Villuercas, remains closed to traffic as a precaution, since there is an accumulation of snow and widespread patches of ice from kilometer point 7. In this area, action is being taken to spread salt in areas with patches of ice, according to the Cáceres Provincial Council, responsible for maintaining the provincial road network. On the other hand, the CC-225 highway, from Baños de Montemayor to the border with Salamanca through La Garganta, is already open to traffic, as is the CC-233 from the N-110 to Piornal through Valdastillas and the CC-241, from Piornal to the CC-240 (towards Pasarón de la Vera) where traffic has already been restored.
