Cancún (Mexico), Nov 5 (EFE).- The semifinal between the Belarusian Aryna Sabalanka and the Polish Iga Swiatek, world numbers one and two, in the WTA finals in Cancún (Mexico) has been suspended due to rain and will complete this Sunday, while the final, in which the American Jessica Pegula is already waiting, has been rescheduled for Monday.

At the time of the suspension Swiatek was leading 2-1 and Sabalenka was on serve, at 30-30.

The semifinal between Jessica Pegula, fifth racket in the world, and her compatriot Coco Gauff, third in the ranking, in which she won 6-2 and 6-1, already suffered a couple of interruptions due to rain and wind.

The rain also wiped out the doubles program, whose semifinals will also have to be played this Sunday. The clash between Pegula/Gauff and Laura Siegemund (GER)/Vera Zvonareva (RUS) had begun, with the North Americans 6-3 and 1-1 in the second set.
