“It is a second motion, we will see how a consensus is achieved. Who can shield a very high official, president of Peru, in the presumption of irregular and illegal acts? There is no way to protect and sustain it when there are already precedents regarding preliminary proceedings for sitting presidents,” she said in a brief statement to the press.

According to the regulations of Congress, to present a presidential vacancy motion, the signatures of at least 26 legislators are required.
