Parliamentarian Amaia Martínez repeats as Vox candidate for lehendakari

The Basque parliamentarian from Vox, Amaia Martínez, will once again be a candidate for lehendakari for the party in the regional elections on April 21, heading the list for Álava. Andrés Paramio is number one for Gipuzkoa while María Pérez leads Vizcaya. Born in Vitoria, Amaia Martínez studied Journalism, although she dedicated herself to private business, managing, together with her husband, a business with branches in Vitoria and Logroño. Since 2020, she has been spokesperson for Vox in the Basque Parliament, after obtaining 4,734 votes in the elections held that year. The head of the Vox list for Guipúzcoa is Andrés Paramio. Although he was born in Bilbao, he has lived and worked in San Sebastián for 20 years. He has a degree in Economics and Business Sciences, has worked in Banking for 26 years, and is a reservist officer in the Air Force. He headed the Vox list for San Sebastián in the municipal elections and was also the candidate for Congress in the last general elections. At number six on the list is Marco Antonio Moreno Asla, brother of the boy Fabio Moreno, murdered by ETA with a bomb placed in the private car of his father, a civil guard, on November 4, 1991. Meanwhile, the head of the list for Vizcaya, María Pérez, is from Vizcaya and founder of Vox. According to the formation led by Santiago Abascal, “her life history in the Basque Country makes her candidacy a reference of loyalty to Spain.” She is currently secretary of the Provincial Executive Committee, with the functions of manager and provincial communications officer.
