One day before the explosion armed conflict between Hamas and Israel, Alicia Bárcena Ibarrahead of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE), announced on social networks that there would be two Mexicans taken hostage by the jihadist group and that they could have been taken near the Gaza Strip.

According to the chancellor, the Government of Mexico was already in contact with the Israeli authorities and with family members of victims to provide them with assistance. Although it has not been officially confirmed who would be the compatriots taken hostage by the jihadist group, Mr. Benito Gritzewsky informed Enlace Judío that his daughter Ilana Gritzewsky Camhiunfortunately is among the group of people kidnapped on Saturday in Israel.

According to her father, the young woman lives in Nir Oz and went captured together with her partner, of Israeli origin, less than three kilometers from the Gaza Strip. Family and friends of the young Mexican woman have already started spreading the message on social networks.

On Saturday, the governor of Campeche, Layda Sansoresannounced that there was 21 tourists stranded in Israel since they had gone on a pilgrimage to the Holy Land. All of them are sheltered in a hotel and are still waiting for the trip that was canceled due to the attacks in Israel to be rescheduled.

Likewise, a Nayarit pilgrimage made up of 52 peopleincluding a couple of priests, is trapped in the city of Jerusalem.
