After several negotiations and names that circulated for that position, this Thursday night the Office of the Elected President of the Argentine Republic confirmed that the university professor Carlos Horacio Torrendell will be the Secretary of Education in the presidency of Javier Mileiso the future Cabinet begins to be completed.

The teacher, who is also the author of several books and essays defending the private education system, will be in charge of one of the areas that will encompass the new Ministry of Human Capital, which will lead Sandra Pettovello and will also include Health, Work and Children and family.

Torrendell has a degree in Educational Sciences from the Pontifical Argentine Catholic University (UCA), where he also served as a full professor in the Department of Education of the Faculty of Social Sciences, in charge of the subjects Educational Policy and History of Argentine Education.

He is a member of committees of recognized academic journals and has received scholarships and recognition for his studies in different subjects, such as the management of institutional change, the renewal of training and teaching practice, and the history of political-educational ideas, among others.

Furthermore, he is the highest authority of the Potenciar Argentina Foundationwhich is located in different provinces and carries out educational projects with teachers, students, young people, adults, children, professionals and workers.

Likewise, Torrendell is a member of the Department of University Pastoral of the Argentine Episcopal Conference and was designated as a member by the academic and scientific community of the National Council for Education Qualityan organization dependent on the Ministry of Education, for the period 2023-2026.

In addition to his degree at the UCA, he received a Specialist in Education from the University of San Andrés and a Doctor in Educational Sciences from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
