On a night that crowned the trap phenomenon in its greatest splendor, Duki took the genre to the top. He brought together the figures who have accompanied him since his beginnings and shone with great guests such as Lit Killah, Nicki Nicole, Emily and Bizarre.

To understand it you have to go back more than 10 years, when a group of kids got together to rap. Among all of them there was one who not only focused on beating his opponents, he also wanted to make music: Mauro Ezequiel Lombardo. At 17 years old she flowed, she sang, she showed a different flow. That same essence was reflected last night in the Monumental Stadiumin a co-production between DF Entertainment and Dale Play.

From very early on, the rag-picking people mobilized through the streets of the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Núñez. On their faces they bore the marks of their idol, under one eye the wings of an angel, under others those of a devil, and others even the SSJ – for the acronym of Duki’s first album, Super Young Blood-.

That same emotion and strength demonstrated the more than 80,000 people who gathered to celebrate Duko and trap. When the show began, the screens showed an astronaut traveling through space in search of a destination, then the lights went out and the artist came out on stage, which was set on an asteroid. Little by little, the singer passed through the rocks until he met his people to the rhythm of “Givenchy.”

The celebration continued with “Otro Level”, “Tumbando en Club”, “Volando Bajito”, “Si me sobrara el tiempo”, and more. A party that was hosted by Duki and celebrated with many symbols of the urban music scene. Many of them were with the artist in his beginnings.

Immediately afterwards “As if it didn’t matter” began to play and Emilia Mernes, his girlfriend, joined the show. The hug didn’t take long to wait, as soon as Duki saw her, he surrounded her with his arms and sang in her ear. Between nerves, excitement and some laughter, they sang the hit that symbolizes the love between them. When they finished, they both gave each other a kiss, a hug and the singer took a few seconds to say a few words in her ear. Afterwards she spoke to the people: “Thank you for loving him so much.”

The night continued with “Wacha”, “Hitboy”, “Aerobic”, “Troya”, “January 1” and “Rockstar”. Far from the panorama left by the previous press conference, this time there was no anguish in Duki’s gaze. He pushed away the ghosts of fear and focused on the present. In the same voices that encouraged him in the square, when he started rapping. “At first I was afraid that this would not happen again, but now that I see all of you I know that it will happen again and not just one more time, but as many times as we want, whenever you want I will be there,” he expressed with a smile.

Furthermore, he then took the opportunity to remember and thank Modo Diablo: “For those who know me recently, Modo Diablo was the group, it was the second family that I had, which we formed with YSY Awith Neo Pistea, the people who accompanied me at the beginning when I had stage fright, I didn’t know how to stand on a stage, I didn’t know how to rap, they accompanied me throughout my first summer tour because I wasn’t ready to do it, I was afraid and they agreed, leaving aside their ego, name and helping me grow and I will be grateful for that all my life. Modo Diablo is the past, present and future of this musical genre.”

The boy who more than 10 years ago brought something that was not seen in Argentine music, who saw the possibility where no one had seen it before, became the father of a movement, a phenomenon and a passion capable of mobilizing masses as has not been seen for years. Thus, Duki marked a path that opened the door to hundreds.
